Eurostat

The Eurostat database contains monthly, quarterly, bi-annual or annual data from 1960 onwards, for all EU countries - depending on the variable and country selected. Data is also available for the sub-national areas within the EU countries. Other countries covered include Japan, the United States, the central European countries and other main economic partners of the Union.

Penn World Table From the University of Pennsylvania, provide purchasing power parity and national income accounts converted to international prices for 168 countries for some or all of the years 1950-2000. Expenditure entries are denominated in a common set of prices in a common currency so that real quantity comparisons can be made, both between countries and over time. It also provides information about relative prices within and between countries, as well as demographic data and capital stock estimates. Unrestricted
St Louis Fed : Federal Reserve Economic Data (FRED) FRED is a database maintained by the Research division of the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis that has more than 143,000 economic time series from 57 sources. The data can be viewed in graphical and text form or downloaded for import to a database or spreadsheet, and viewed on mobile devices. They cover banking, business/fiscal, consumer price indexes, employment and population, exchange rates, gross domestic produce (GDP), interest rates, monetary aggregates, produce price indexes (PPI), reserves and monetary base, U.S. Trade and international transactions, and U.S. Financial data. The time series are compiled by the Federal Reserve and collected from government agencies such as the U.S. Census and the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Unrestricted
St Louis Fed : Federal Reserve Archival System for Economic Research (FRASER) FRASER is a digital archive begun in 2004 to safeguard, preserve and provide easy access to the United States' economic history - particularly the history of the Federal Reserve System - through digitization of documents related to the U.S. Financial system : Publications of the Federal Reserve Board of Governors / Publications of each of the Federal Reserve banks / Statements, speeches and archival materials of the Federal Reserve policy makers / Government data publications / Statistical releases / Congressional hearings / Books / Reports by various organizations. UK Data Service Discover UK's largest collection of UK and international social, economic and population data. Includes major UK government sponsered surveys, cross-national surveys, longitudinal studies, UK census data, international aggregate, business data and qualitative data. UK Office for National Statistics (ONS) UK's largest independent producer of official statistics and its recognised national statistical institute. It is responsible for the collection & publication of data related to the economy, population and society of the UK. Unrestricted
UN Comtrade

UN Comtrade contains detailed imports and exports statistics reported by statistical authorities of nearly 200 countries or areas. It concerns annual trade data from 1962 to the most recent year. It is considered the most comprehensive trade database available with more than 1 billion records. The database is continuously updated. Whenever trade data are received from the national authorities, they are standardized by the UN Statistics Division and then added to UN Comtrade.

US Bureau of Economic Analysis Provides US national accounts, international accounts (aggregated), regional and sector accounts and input-output data Unrestricted
US Bureau of Labor Statistics Provides detailed data on employmnet, unemployment, inflation, productivity, wages, occupational statistics Unrestricted
WIOD (World Input-Output Database) Consists of time series of input output tables giving trade across sectors both within and between countries as well as employment, capital, value added and environmental indicators at the industry-country leve. Data is available for 27 EU countries and 13 other major countries between 1995 and 2014. Unrestricted
WORLD KLEMS Contains KLEMS data (K-Capital / L-Labor / E-Energy / M-Materials / S-Services) measuring economic growth, productivity, employment creation, capital formation and technological change at the industry level for a broad range of countries around the World. The data is structured and built up in the same way as the data in the EU KLEMS database to increase comparability across a larger set of countries. This standardisation includes input definitions, price concepts, aggregation procedures and comparable measures of input and productivity. Unrestricted

Wharton Research Data Services (upenn.edu)

WRDS provides the user with one location to access over 250 terabytes of data across mulitiple disciplines including accounting, banking, economics, finance and statistics. It provides access to Capital IQ Capital Structure, Capital IQ Key Developments, Capital IQ People Intelligence, Capital IQ Transactions, Capital IQ Transcripts, S&P Compustat Executive Compensation, S&P Compustat Global and Compustat Global daily updates.

Using a standard query structure - for example company name, dates of interest, financial parameters - students can create customised reports. These can then be stored, revisited and exported.

The Marshall Librarian can authorise  accounts for students on MPhil & Undergraduate courses. Simply complete the WRDS Registration Form.
