Criteria for selecting these books for transfer where (all, or one of the following):
- fragile or very fragile items
- collection security (pre-1800 volumes)
- better, long-term preservation
This transfer follows up from a previous transfer (time unknown, but probably more than 20 years ago!), at which even older volumes were transferred to the better conditions at the University Library (also to the Rare Books Department): scan of the list of volumes transferred before
