Catalogues Overview

There are currently 3 main catalogues for Cambridge:

  • iDiscover : Cambridge's new library search allows you to discover millions of resources in one place - digital, print, books, journals, manuscripts, videos and lots more ...
  • ArchiveSearch: use for finding materials in archives and manuscript collections held throughout Cambridge (note: currently Marshall Library archival holdings are not yet included)

The Marshall Library additionally provides finding aids for its archives:


Depending on your level of research you might need to use libraries further afield:

  • Library Hub Discover : Useful for figuring out which libraries hold books or journals in the UK & IRL (for an Inter Library Loan request)
  • Worldcat:can be helpful in tracking down whether a book was ever published, or for obtaining bibliographic information of items not held at any Cambridge Library.
